Philosophy of Coregroups
What are Coregroups?: Core groups are small, gender-specific groups designed to provide all members of The 101 with an opportunity to build genuine spiritual friendships and exercise their spiritual giftedness (1 Cor 12:4-7).
What are the Purposes of Coregroup?: Coregroups serve a multplicity of purposes, but the goals of coregroup can be summarized as follows:
- Affection/Affinity – A community time of true Christian fellowship, caring for one another with the many considerations of life. The aim of the relationships formed in this group is to dive beneath the surface and share our hopes, desires, motivations, and fears.
- Application – A deliberate time of soul work, challenging one another towards godliness. This time is to go beyond intellectual queries and apply biblical truths to heart problems.
- Accountability – A transparent time of vulnerable communication, seeking one another for counsel and aid in areas of failure. The group is intended to be a place where weaknesses of the heart can be strengthened and encouragement can be found to fight the idols of our hearts.
